FanStory.com Review

When I first heard about FanStory, I was a nervous about joining. The thought of strangers commenting on my writing seemed to me to be very nerve racking. I've shown my writing to friends and family. But that's it.  They loved it - of course!

I'd been writing stories and poems since I was very young. The thought of showing my poems to others and entering contests appealed to me. But what is FanStory.com? I didn't know.

After reading through the pages on FanStory.com. Reading the poems. Reading the stories -  I decided to join. I mean, why not?

FanStory, for those that are not familiar, is a writing community. You post your poem, story or book chapter on FanStory.com (there are many privacy settings in case you are looking to be published) and writers provide feedback. There are writing contests that you can participate in for free. There are rankings where you can see how you are doing compared to other writers like yourself.

So on my first day I posted a poem.  It was hoping that the guarantee of a reviews in five minutes was true - because I was nervous waiting. What would a reviewer think of my poem? Fortunately, a review came in quickly. This writer - with little confidence - got her first review. And I never looked back!

The review, and the reviews that followed, weren't out to hurt me. Rather, the reviews were very supportive, helpful and most of all encouraging. Yes, there were things I needed to work on and the reviewers pointed this out. It was very helpful. I haven't stopped writing since.

FanStory.com has provided me with confidence. The members on FanStory are wonderful people. I now call many friends. I enjoy posting my stories and poems and receiving helpful feedback daily.  I have  been published since joining the FanStory community. I would never have achieved this if it had not been for FanStory and the support the writers provided me.

There are some great authors on FanStory, and it has been fantastic to read what they wrote. Some of the stories and poems make me laugh. Yes, and some make me cry. Emotions are written are poured on the floor at FanStory. So many wonderful writers.

I'm so glad I made the decision to join, for if I hadn't, I would have never have received such friendship, help and support.

All in all, if you are thinking of joining I would recommend that you do. FanStory.com, the staff, the members, are all writers looking to provide you support. I understand the hesitation. Is this a scam? Is it worth my time? It isn't a scam. It is worth your time. And, yes, I think you will benefit from being a member at FanStory.

If anyone asked me, "FanStory, what is it?" I would say:  "It's where casual writers become published authors."
